
- In micro health insurance a lack of knowledge among stakeholders in the market was identified as a major problem, hindering the development of this pro-poor market
- Within the “Pro-MHI Africa”-project the cooperating universities will develop a modern university lecture using the projects research findings to fill this gap by educating decision makers of tomorrow in government, the industry and civil society
- Already existing microfinance course modules in the African partner universities will serve as a basis for developing new modules
- This new university teaching module will integrate multimedia and participatory learning approaches, thus enhancing university staffs skills to highest level teaching and modern methods
- The consortium aims to introduce a joint diploma in microinsurance in order to sustainably provide adequately skilled professionals for the fast growing (micro-) insurance industry
- The partners will jointly develop curricula on essentials of micro health insurance for teaching to different stakeholders
