
Philipp Degens graduated in economics and social science at the University of Cologne. Furthermore he studies history and cultural anthropology. His diploma thesis focused on “Trust in micro health insurance units”. Philipp Degens is PhD student and currently working as research assistant at the Department for Cooperative Studies at the University of Cologne. He worked for the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) on the topic of financial system development. His main research interests are social capital and its importance in micro health insurance as well as the development of mutual insurance schemes.
